Abstract
ESCALANTE-CAMPOS, S. et al. The cadmium effect evaluation on germination and root elongation of Axonopus affinis and Festuca rubra bacterized seeds. Polibotánica [online]. 2012, n.34, pp.205-221. ISSN 1405-2768.
There has been reported different index to biomonitoring the phytotoxic effects of metals in plants; one of them is based on the germination and plant lets growth, even though the root promotion is a major marker which measures the beneficial effect of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria. The present study analyzed the bacterization effect on germination and root elongation of Axonopus affinis (Chase) and Festucarubra L., as protection and promoting plant growth mechanisms at the exposition to a heavy metal. The seeds bacterization with the rhizobacteria Pseudomonas sp. Sp7D of both species, showed its promoting potential in the germination and the plantlets grown as its protecting potential in cadmium presence for both species; even that A. affinis (Chase) showed too a hormetic response with cadmium and the tolerance to it.
Keywords : germination; plant growth promoting rhizobacteria; cadmium.
