Abstract

POTRONY HECHAVARRIA, María Elena; MOTITO MARIN, Angel  and  REYES, Orlando J.. PATRONES DE DISTRIBUCIÓN Y VÍAS DE MIGRACIÓN DE LOS MUSGOS DE LA SIERRA MAESTRA. Polibotánica [online]. 2007, n.24, pp.167-176. ISSN 1405-2768.

An inventory of mosses from the Sierra Maestra was performed in order to seek an explanation for the geographic origins of the group in this region. Their affinities are identified with six known floristic kingdoms, allowing us to propose a hypothesis about their distribution patterns and also the main migration routes. Cosmopolitan and pantropical taxa as well as various disjunctions are emphasized.

Keywords : mosses; distribution patterns; migration routes; Sierra Maestra.
