Abstract

SOWTER, Leandro. The economic cooperation and the reformulation of the Peronist economic policy, 1949-1955. Am. Lat. Hist. Econ [online]. 2021, vol.28, n.3, e1196.  Epub Oct 04, 2021. ISSN 2007-3496.  https://doi.org/10.18232/alhe.1196.

This article deals with economic cooperation between 1949 and 1955, a policy executed through councils and commissions that sought to involve businessmen and workers in economic policy. It is argued that, with the objective of managing the political costs of the adjustment in the economy since 1949, the government designed a strategy that led to strengthening economic cooperation and the participation of the actors. Based on a variety of sources that recover tripartite discussions in councils and commissions, it is shown that the agenda of economic cooperation varied in its density and depth: from prices and wages to productivity.

Keywords : peronism; economic policy; economic councils; corporations; concertation.
