Abstract

COMINS-MINGOL, Irene  and  PARIS-ALBERT, Sonia. The challenges of neuroscience: An analysis from philosphy for peace. Convergencia [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.62, pp.107-133. ISSN 2448-5799.

Neuroscience is presented in the twenty-first century as a new discipline that poses new challenges for both natural sciences and humanities. In this article we intend to make a critical review of some of these challenges through an interdisciplinary dialogue, taking into account the philosophical researches produced by the UNESCO Chair of Philosophy for Peace at University Jaume I, Castellon (Spain). To perform this critical review, the text is organized in two parts; one concerning epistemology and the other with an anthropological profile. This analysis leads us to question the significant contributions of neuroscience for a better understanding of human beings.

Keywords : neuroscience; philosophy for peace; epistemology; anthropology; conflict.
