Abstract

THOMAS, Hernán; FRESSOLI, Mariano  and  AGUIAR, Diego. Procesos de construcción de "funhormocionamiento" de organismos animales genéticamente modificados: el caso de la vaca transgénica clonada (Argentina 1996-2006). Convergencia [online]. 2006, vol.13, n.42, pp.153-180. ISSN 2448-5799.

This work analyses the socio-technical trajectory of the construction of a genetically modified animal in Argentina. We aim to reconstruct the diverse working ways of a singular GMO animal: high vertebrates used as human protein factories for pharmaceutical purposes. The particularities of this case lead to the research of two entwined problems. In the first place, the study in-the-making of the construction's process of a technological artifact helps to show how "working" is built. In the second place, the analysis of the construction of the "working" of a GMO animal may get us some clues to understand how at the same time that "working" is constructed the relation nature-culture is re-constructed and re-defined.

Keywords : Working; socio-technical artifacts; constructivism; transgenic organism; nature/culture.
