Abstract

MUNOZ, Paloma. Las Mujeres en las Músicas Populares. Convergencia [online]. 2005, vol.12, n.37, pp.361-374. ISSN 2448-5799.

It is a narration which at tempts to show how, in an investigative process of several years about folk music in different cultural contexts, I could feel and throw light on the role which woman plays and the musical expression in these contexts. In the iconography and text representation of the Colombian Andean region songs, specially in the departments of Boyaca and Cauca, I found some examples of that established relationship between male and female, in sung texts and its role in some explored music gender, in which woman is not only represented as a motif of in spiration for winning her heart but she is also accused.

Keywords : woman; region; musical gender; male; female; cultural contexts.
