The pertinence of working with Jesuit correspondence began in the moment I became interested in what is denominated as "spiritual literature", particularly in the moment of it's great flourishing during the XVII^th century. My principal objective was to try to answer the enigma of its own possibility as a literature constituted as a model of interlocution bound with relations of spiritual direction: only through its constitution as such was it guaranteed the gesture of directing -not itself, but as an circumstantial gesture- as an act of self love.
