Abstract

A female patient who had emergency surgery for presumed appendicitis, is presented. During surgery, appendicitis was discarded and suspected diagnosis of cecal diverticulitis with a perforated phlegmon was done, an ileocecal resection was performed. Histopathological analysis confirmed a diverticulum with chronic inflammation and acute exacerbation. The objective of this paper is present this case that could mimic common diagnosis.
