Abstract

SANDOVAL, Julio  and  JAIMES, José Luis. Formación de ozono en la Ciudad de México durante una porción de primavera e invierno en cámaras de esmog exteriores. Rev. Soc. Quím. Méx [online]. 2002, vol.46, n.2, pp.180-184. ISSN 0583-7693.

Some studies were carried out to determine the potential of Mexico City's air on ozone formation in April and December 1995. The Captive-Air Irradiation methodology (CAI) was employed for it. Ambient morning air was captured in an experimental system constituted by teflon chambers exposed to solar irradiance. The hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide concentrations, temperature and solar irradiance were different in both months of the year. However, the ozone formation was similar in April and December.

Keywords : Ozone; smog chambers; photochemical reactions.
