Abstract

We report the synthesis and structural characterization of fourteen new stannocane dithiocarbamates with general formula X(CH2CH2S)2SnnBu(dtc) (X = O, S), (dtc = dimethyl, diethyl-, diiso-propyl-dithiocarmanates and 3-pyrroline-, pyrrolidine-, piperidin-and morpholine-carbodithioates), which were prepared from the corresponding chloro oxastannocane O(CH2CH2S)2Sn(nBu)Cl 1, and the thia-stannocane S(CH2CH2S)2Sn(nBu)Cl 2 and the sodium salts of the dithiocarbamates. Compounds 3-16 were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, MS, and multinuclear RMN, (1H, 13C, 119Sn). Molecular structures of compound 7 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, with the 8-membered ring showing a bote-chair conformation and a transannular interaction. The ligand coordination is anisobidentate and the geometry around the tin atom can be described as octahedral.
