Abstract

Tillandsia fascifolia is described and illustrated from plants collected in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. The new taxon is similar to species such as T. bartramii, T. chaetophylla, T. eistetteri, T. festucoides, T. júncea, T. ortgiesiana, T. pentasticha and T. setacea. However, characters such as an orange color of floral bracts, green sepals at base and orange at apex and white petals at base and pale green at apex. It grows as an epiphyte over oak trees in cloud forests and pine-oak forests.
