Abstract

CORTES CORTES, Manuel E.  and  BORROTO NORDELO, Aníbal E.. Modelación y sociedad. Prob. Des [online]. 2008, vol.39, n.154, pp.183-197. ISSN 0301-7036.

Modernity involves many challenges: competitiveness, productivity, saving of resources, profits, environmental impact and the effective utilization of human resources, among others, which demand that company decision-taking be based on statistical models. In this study we develop the multicriterial mathematical model for selecting energy sources for a rural population and compare the results with traditional models of improvement thatpursue a single goal. The multicriterial model includes productive, economic, social and ecological objectives. An application is presented of a multicriterial model in the selection of energy in a case study of a real rural population.

Keywords : mathematical modeling; multicriterial modeling; energy selection; environmental and social development criteria.
