Abstract

In Baja California, a border region facing the US state of California, a group of small and medium-sized companies (PYME -in Spanish abbreviation) in the software industry associated formally as a cluster in 2004. This study describes and analyzes several dimensions of this group with the aim of examining the characteristics of these companies' joint action and the degree of consolidation of their collective organization. The results show that the organization and the networks between these firms are oriented more to training and certifying them based on public help strengthening business projects between them.
