Abstract

TOSCANA APARICIO, Alejandra  and  PIMIENTA, Rodrigo de Jesús. Inter-contour migration in the Metropolitan Area of Mexico City. A study from the theory of spatial justice. Polít. cult. [online]. 2018, n.49, pp.93-120. ISSN 0188-7742.

The inter-contour migration in the Metropolitan Zone of Mexico City is studied in order to understand its relationship with the educational level and the income of the population. From the theoretical framework of space justice, it was found that the Central City attracts the population sectors with the highest level of education and higher incomes, while the third and fourth contours, which are those of the most recent conurbation, attract the population with the lowest educational level and lower income, which has less accessibility to employment centers, educational and other services, than the population of the Central City and first contours.

Keywords : spatial justice; inter-contour migration; urban contours; housing; Metropolitan Area of Mexico City.
