Abstract

TORRES LIMA, Pablo; CRUZ CASTILLO, Juan G.  and  ACOSTA BARRADAS, Rey. Vulnerabilidad agroambiental frente al cambio climático: Agendas de adaptación y sistemas institucionales. Polít. cult. [online]. 2011, n.36, pp.205-232. ISSN 0188-7742.

Agricultural systems have begun to proactively address vulnerability and climate risks as challenges and opportunities to develop climate change adaptation measures that protect the natural resources and the ecosystems services on which they depend. However, in most regional conditions, the level of understanding of local changes in hazard exposure caused by climate change, the geographic and spatial distribution of vulnerability, as well as underlying socioeconomic factors remains limited. Here, it is analyzed how in regional agro-environmental processes underline the need for a convergence among the assessments of local climate risk, agricultural vulnerability and adaptive capacities with international and national policy guidance and climate change science.

Keywords : vulnerability; agro-environmental processes; climate change; adaptation; institutional systems.
