Abstract

GUERRA MANZO, Enrique. El Estado mexicano y el faccionalismo político: Zitácuaro, Michoacán, 1928-1940. Polít. cult. [online]. 2008, n.29, pp.191-215. ISSN 0188-7742.

This article explores the political tendencies of the municipality of Zitácuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, between 1928 and 1940. The goal is to elucidate how the modern Mexican state -in its process of formation- built relationships with local political groups. I want to argue that factionalism was promoted both by feuds between political elites, and those that occurred among minor local governments.

Keywords : Factionalism; Zitácuaro; Mexican Politics, 1928-1940.
