Abstract

SOLIS DELGADILLO, Juan Mario. Memory Without Parties or Parties Without Memory?. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2011, vol.19, n.37, pp.73-112. ISSN 0188-7653.

This paper explores the role of political parties in Argentina, Chile and Guatemala in relation to the implementation of public policies of memory after the return to democracy in each of these countries. To do this, we discuss the concept of memory and the problems of memorial obsession. We consider the uses and abuses of memory that human rights organizations manifest on the subject, and examine the work of the parties about the level of adaptation that allows claims of human rights movement to become matters of public policy.

Keywords : memory; political parties; human rights organizations; political memory.
