Abstract

SILVA LONDONO, Diana Alejandra. Las redes sociales y la importancia de la mediación política en el comercio en vía pública. Perf. latinoam. [online]. 2007, vol.15, n.30, pp.79-99. ISSN 0188-7653.

This paper shows the relevance of studying the social networks of commerce on public roads. It focuses particularly on extant networks with the political-institutional system, due the fact that those links are the ones which make possible the use of public space. Through a qualitative analysis of these networks, we will show some of their main features and the centrality of political intermediation. This last element, far from being unique to commerce in the public space, is one of the main features of Mexican politics culture.

Keywords : commerce on public roads; political intermediation; social networks; leadership; informal sector.
