Abstract

HERNANDEZ GONZALEZ, Edna  and  GUERIN, Florian. The experience of urban walks at night. Alteridades [online]. 2016, vol.26, n.52, pp.35-50. ISSN 2448-850X.

This work is about urban walks at nighttime. The assumption is made that urban walks are different depending on the pace of the city during nighttime, shifting from just commuting to wandering. Other types of walks arise from the relation with the city and other people, which cover from public spaces lived anonymously to the ones experienced with familiarity. The exploratory study of a Parisian commercial street allows the demonstration of this hypothesis.

Keywords : temporalities; nighttime; urban pace; public spaces.
