Abstract

DOMINGUEZ RUIZ, Ana Lidia Magdalena. The Binding Power of Sound: The Construction of Identity and Difference in the Sound Space. Alteridades [online]. 2015, vol.25, n.50, pp.95-104. ISSN 2448-850X.

This paper intends to demonstrate the existence of a strictly sound society that is not produced by a personality or an idiosyncrasy -though it is crossed by them-, but by space conditions of proximity and distance. Thus, the construction of identity and difference will be reviewed within the framework of a system of oppositions of space origin, founded in the distinction between inside and outside, from which processes of cohesion and social conflict arise through the mediation of sound.

Keywords : social identity; sound sociability; space conflict; sensation; perception.
