Abstract

JIMENO, Myriam  and  ARIAS, David. Teaching anthropology in Colombia: an anthropology of citizenship. Alteridades [online]. 2011, vol.21, n.41, pp.27-44. ISSN 2448-850X.

This text shows the nuisances in the teaching of anthropologists in Colombia, especially in the National University of Colombia. Its central thesis is that there is in Colombia a structural tension between the knowledge of the traditional anthropological paradigms in the dominant metropolitan schools and the local commitment of the anthropologist with the national conflicts that he faces as a citizen. This is contrasted with the pretension of universality in the metropolitan anthropologies and reflects in the teaching of anthropologists in 13 schools in different regions of the country.

Keywords : teaching of anthropology; anthropology in Colombia; citizens and anthropologists.
