Globalization of resistance. The polyphony of the discourse concerning indigenous women's rights: from the local village to the international forums. This article examines the way in which indigenous women have performed as political actors and have expressed gender demands from a cultural perspective as well as the importance of their strugglefor indigenous autonomy in Mexico. Such process started out in the late80's within diverse social processes in local, national and international forums. The core interest of this article is to show the existing links between the indigenous women movement with determined processes and historical and cultural phenomena as well as with the emergence and the dynamics of the national and Latin-American indigenous movement during the 90's in such a way that theglocal space is the one that lets us understand the way in which women perform as political actors and its importance in the national and international indigenous movement as well as in the lives of indigenous women.
