The purpose of this work is to make a comparison between the Otomí cosmovision and the categories of the Aristotle system by approaching some of them such as substance: physical and causal. The general intention is to show the analytical potential concerning philosophical concepts within ethnographical works, which constitutes a way to enter into the existing philosophical speculations of the Mesoamerican peoples.
