Increase in migration flows, has been one of the major hallmarks of global capitalism consolidation. Over the last two decades, Latin America and the Caribbean as a region have become one of the major immigrants' senders. Given this activity, migrants have transformed not only the economy of their own nations, but have also been an instrumental factor in strengthening the economic activities of the countries they migrate. This work provides an overview of international migration originated in the Americas and the impact on social and economic fields, for both the main destination countries (United States and Spain) as well as the Latin American region. The main sources for this research were taken from public statistical data from national and international agencies.
