Abstract
HERNANDEZ, Miguel Ángel et al. ADSORCIÓN DE HIDROCARBUROS CLORADOS EN SUSTRATOS CON MICROPOROS: CLINOPTILOLITAS DESALUMINIZADAS Y SIO 2. Rev. Int. Contam. Ambient [online]. 2005, vol.21, n.4, pp.183-191. ISSN 0188-4999.
The adsorption of chlorinated compounds (chlorobenzene, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride) on microporous SiO2 (SiO2 and Ag/SiO2) and decationated clinoptilolites (CLINA, CLIDA1 and CLIDA2) has been studied and compared by using the gas chromatographic technique (GC) at different temperatures. All data corresponding to the adsorption of chlorinated compounds on these adsorbents were evaluated through the Freundlich adsorption equation. The uptake degree of these chlorated compounds on both adsorbents was temperature dependent. Additionally, the degree of interaction of chlorinated compounds with the above microporous adsorbents was analyzed by evaluation of the isosteric heats of adsorption using the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. The isosteric heats of adsorption of the chlorinated compounds at different loadings, obtained from the adsorption isotherms, were found to follow the following order: q st (chlorobenzene) > q st (chloroform) > q st (carbon tetrachloride).
