Abstract

The object of this article is to announce a series of reflections about the role that the Ministerio de Fomento played concerning the study and recognition of the Mexican territory in the second half of the 19th century. This will be sustained in the analysis of the reports contained in one of the publications of the Ministerio de Fomento: Anales del Ministerio de Fomento de la República Mexicana, corresponding the period delimited for this research with that of the publication of Annals.
