Abstract

PADILLA Y SOTELO, Lilia Susana. La población en la región costera de México en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Invest. Geog [online]. 2000, n.41, pp.81-95. ISSN 2448-7279.

The objective of this research work is to consider the variations in population that occurred in the coastal region during the second half of the twentieth century. These are characterized by an unbalance at different scales as well as by marked differences. These aspects are tackled through the analysis of temporary changes and of the urbanization process, which has given place to urban concentrations. The high potential that the coastal region represents for populating the country is demonstrated.

Keywords : Population; coastal region; urbanization process; urban rearrangement.
