Abstract

FLORES, Emigdio Z.; GARCIA, Héctor J.; PIMENTEL H., Ramón  and  PEREZ V., Jose A.. La densidad de drenaje del Valle de la Paz el Carrizal, Baja California Sur y su relación con la recarga de los sistemas acuíferos. Invest. Geog [online]. 1992, n.24, pp.17-30. ISSN 2448-7279.

The density of drainage, a geomorphometric variable, proved to be an useful tool to make a regionalization of the Valle de La Paz - El Carrizal. This allowed to prospect zones with potential to recharge and/or storing groundwater, as well as to detect possible structural or litological controls on the groundwater flow. Three longitudinal fringes, oriented N-S, composed each one by three regions, north, central and south, subdivided by zones approximately homogeneous in terms of the drainage density, form the regionalization. The former led to prospect seven deposit zones, susceptible to store groundwater, and several possible estructural controls, among them there is a prominent one, which governs the groundwater flow in between the valleys of La Paz and El Carrizal. The study shows how useful is to handle a metodology such as the regionalization of an area in function of the drainage density variable, previous to detailed studies, to know and to infer underground characteristics in relation to groundwater.
