Abstract

The fight against poverty in the rural area has ceased to be a priority in some countries, as the result of an apparent improvement of their living conditions. The study of rural development policies in Mexico, it is of special interest, as this country is positioned to the forefront in the attempt to increase the coordination of their policies, these being object of evaluation in this work. Based on information obtained from interviews to experts conducted in rural development in two rounds -methodology Delphi-, this paper discusses the neglect of poverty in rural areas, providing the experts their assessments about the efficacy that implemented policies has had on the reduction of rural poverty, considering the interest for further deepening of the reforms initiated.
