Abstract

SANTANDER, Pedro. Influencing the media: The tense relationship between Chile's journalists and the communication advisors of the country's political elite. Comun. soc [online]. 2013, n.20, pp.95-112. ISSN 0188-252X.

This research explores the relationship between journalists covering the political arena and the communication advisors of the Chilean elite. Consulted on their views about communication strategists, journalists with permanent accreditation from the President's office and the National Congress produced an ambivalent assessment of the former, and revealed an absence of critical thought regarding their impact on journalistic autonomy.
