After three decades of existence indigenous broadcasting in Mexico remains a refection of the relation between the state and small native populations. This article analyses the indigenous communication policy of recent conservative administrations; it also questions the premise circulated by government officials, grassroots communicators and academics, in the sense that indigenous broadcasting is neither indigenous or communitarian.
