In the year 2010 there will be an “analogical blackout” in Spain. Institutions, television networks, media corporations, as well as program producers and distributors, are preparing to take the leap into the digital decade. Some recent measures have led to the appearance of new analogical channels, while more and more licenses for digital broadcasting have been granted.

However, networks have not made a full commitment to designing and offering contents that will awaken the interest of viewers in the new digital television, mainly due to financial considerations.
