Abstract

FRESNEDA CAMACHO, Edel José. Haitians to the South, from vulnerability to uncertainty. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2023, vol.85, n.3, pp.669-696.  Epub Sep 01, 2023. ISSN 2594-0651.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iis.01882503p.2023.3.60776.

This article analyzes recent Haitian migration using the Transnational Vulnerability Dispersion approach. The text explores how this human mobility reveals interdependencies between unequal and heterogeneous socioeconomic scenarios when the difficulties that vulnerable populations experience in accessing assets and structures are geographically dispersed. Consequently, this study argues that this dispersion is influenced by factors such as cultural exclusion and the restrictive management of migration observed at the regional level.

Keywords : Transnational Dispersion of Vulnerability; south-south migration; migration management; Haiti.
