Abstract

CASTRO VASQUEZ, María del Carmen. Linguistic habitus and right to information in the medical field. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2011, vol.73, n.2, pp.231-259. ISSN 2594-0651.

This article analyzes how subordination practices are constructed that hamper and conceal the right to information of women users in the medical field, particularly in two programs: the timely detection and care of cervico-uterine and breast cancer. The information was obtained through the qualitative technique of focus groups. The analysis is based on the theoretical framework proposed by Pierre Bourdieu's theory of practices, an integrative conceptual approach using the concepts of habitus and field and habitus and linguistic market.

Keywords : right to information; health care; subordination; field; habitus.
