Abstract

ESTRELLA GONZALEZ, Alejandro. Antonio Caso and Mexican Philosophical Networks: Sociology of Intellectual Creativity. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2010, vol.72, n.2, pp.311-342. ISSN 2594-0651.

On the basis of the sociological tools offered by Randall Collins for the analysis of the production and circulation of philosophical objects, this article seeks to measure the creativity of the work of Mexican thinker Antonio Caso. To this end, the author analyzes Caso's social and intellectual career within the framework of late 19th and early 20th philosophical networks, as well as the teacher-disciple genealogy that emanated from him, the end of which announced the new configuration of a Mexican philosophical field that emerged in the 1930s and 1940s.

Keywords : sociology of philosophy; philosophy network; interaction rituals; philosophical market; emotional energy; intellectual capital.
