Abstract

PEREZ SAINZ, Juan Pablo  and  MORA SALAS, Minor. Social Exclusion, Unequalities and Labour Surplus: Analytical Thoughts on Latin America. Rev. Mex. Sociol [online]. 2006, vol.68, n.3, pp.431-465. ISSN 2594-0651.

The article explores one of the key issues in the new order of society being imposed by globalized modernization in Latin America: social exclusion. On the basis of the different approaches used to examine this issue, the authors attempt to define this concept in order for it to be applicable to Latin American realities. To this end, they focus on labor exclusion, since this is regarded as one of the main forms of social exclusion in the region.

Keywords : Social exclusion; social inequalities; labor market; marginalization.
