In order to investigate the origin of difficulties detected in students of the first university course of Chemistry, in the topic of intermolecular forces and their relation with physical properties, a combined study among high school and university students was initiated. In it, the way pupils at high schools learn this particular topic was searched to find out how they are positioned. In the present work, the test designed for such a purpose and its analysis carried out by means of a multistrategic approach is presented.
