Abstract

Attitude, Subjective Norm, and Behavioral Control as Predictors of Drug Use among Youth in Marginal Urban Area of Northern Mexico. Frontera norte [online]. 2014, vol.26, n.51, pp.53-74. ISSN 2594-0260.

The purpose is to determine the predictive effect of attitude, subjective norm and behavioral control on intention and drug use in a sample of 257 young people in a marginal urban area of northern México. The results showed that 17.1 per cent of the sample had used drugs. Having beliefs favorable to drug use, beliefs that significant people tolerate consumption and poor control for resist drug use were predictors for intend and drug use, with an explained variance of 47.5 per cent and 40.7 per cent respectively.
