Abstract

ALVAREZ, Mariana  and  FERNANDEZ, Ana Laura. Occupational mobility of young workers in Argentina in a period of economic growth. Frontera norte [online]. 2012, vol.24, n.48, pp.63-92. ISSN 2594-0260.

Young workers present a higher risk of leaving a job in comparison with adults as a consequence of their own characteristics, but also because of the type of jobs they work at. This high occupational instability could negatively affect their future occupational paths. This paper presents a characterization of recent occupational mobility in Argentina (2003-2010), focusing on young workers. For this, panel data constructed with the micro-data of the Encuesta Permanente de Hogares (EPH-INDEC) has been used.

Keywords : occupational mobility; young workers; labour market; dynamic analysis; Argentina.
