Abstract

CORRALES C., Salvador. Importancia del cluster en el desarrollo regional actual. Frontera norte [online]. 2007, vol.19, n.37, pp.173-201. ISSN 2594-0260.

As economic globalization has spread, regions have experienced profound changes in order to adapt to technological advances and to the new strategies involving segmented production processes, which have altered companies' ability to compete. These transformations led to new forms of economic and business organization designed to face the competition. This led to the formation of the "cluster," which symbolizes regional development in modern times. This article explains the rationale behind the cluster concept.

Keywords : cluster; subcontracting; collective efficiency; development pole; regional development.
