Abstract

MEJIA REYES, Pablo. Fluctuaciones cíclicas en la producción maquiladora de México. Frontera norte [online]. 2003, vol.15, n.29, pp.65-86. ISSN 2594-0260.

The Kydland and Prescott's (1990) methodology for business cycles analysis is used to address the relationship between the cyclical fluctuations of the Mexican maquiladoras production and those of other domestic and external sector variables. One of the most important results in that maquiladoras production exhibit a different dynamics compared to that on the total industrial production which induce a different response to changes in the main macroeconomic variables. On the other hand, there evidence of time and business cycle dependent effects of the us economy on maquiladoras production fluctuations.

Keywords : business cycles; fluctuations; maquiladoras; Mexico; United States.
