Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explain how social inequality converges and fragmentation of space in the urban process of the Federal District and as they emerge, accordingly, economies of survival in the population that often end up construct specific spaces. We present the case of agriculture in Milpa Alta, where socio-economic and historical confluence that have not been assimilated by urbanization and, on the contrary, with the cultivation of nopal has conformed an economy the is relevant for the social reproduction of the population connected with it, as a rural urbanization process also makes possible the social construction of a quirky space.
