Critical account of the meaning of native reforms between 1990 and 1998 in the state of Oaxaca. We review their progress and recognize their limitations, to reach the point of what remains to be done. This article is complementary to a previous one published in 2009 in this magazine: "Policies and reforms on native matter: 1990-2007".
