Abstract

OCHOA, Carlos; VALENZUELA, Eduardo  and  ALANIZ, Jorge. The genus Disciseda (Agaricales, Agaricaceae) in Baja California, México. Rev. Mex. Mic [online]. 2014, vol.40, pp.23-26. ISSN 0187-3180.

At present three species of the genus Disciseda has been recorded for Baja California: D. bovista, D. candica and D. hyalothrix. Examination of herbarium specimens attributable to these species, allow us to discover among the studied material, several misidentified species. These include, D. cervina, D. stuckertii and D. verrucosa which respresent new records for the Baja California mycobiota. These organisms were collected in arid and semi-arid habitats as well as disturbed suburban habitats. Some of the studied specimens showed a larger and smooth, at light microscope, spore than previous recorded, but the implication of this variation is until now unknown.

Keywords : Basidiomycetes; Lycoperdales; taxonomy.
