In 2011, the Center for Demographic, Urban and Environmental Studies (CEDUA) at El Colegio de México received the National Demography Award, granted by the Mexican government to professionals or institutions who have made an outstanding contribution to the understanding of demographic dynamics or the definition of public population policies.
