Abstract

SOSA-PECH, M et al. In vitro antagonistic activity of Bacilli class isolates from the Yucatán peninsula against four phythopathogenic fungi. Universidad y ciencia [online]. 2012, vol.28, n.3, pp.279-284. ISSN 0186-2979.

Bacterial strains of the Bacilli class were isolated from soil of the Yucatán Peninsula. The antagonist activity was evaluated by direct confrontation against the phytopathogenic fungi Macrophomina phaseolina, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Helminthosporium sp and Alternaria sp. The isolates caused a 42 to 86 % inhibition of fungal colony growth. The isolate CBCK47 generated an inhibition zone of 0.30 to 0.72 cm in three of the four phytopathogenic fungi.
