Abstract

ROMERO RUIZ, Raúl. The Use of the Image as a Primary Source of Social Research. Methodological Experience of Visual Ethnography in the Case Study: Territoriality of Everyday Life in the Slab of the Zócalo of México City. Secuencia [online]. 2012, n.82, pp.175-194. ISSN 2395-8464.

We land at ground level on the Zócalo of México City, in terms of space, bounded only his "slab" and in terms of time to what ¡s happening today with regard to its use and social appropriation. This article is about everyday life in the slab of the Zócalo, the forms of socially constructed space, to interact with their environment, to intervene, to live, to appropriate, in a single sentence of localizing the daily practice. It is important to note that the prospect of this work underlines especially the scenarios that are built from below, ie the delimitación and schedule are subjecc the resident or practitioner of space, which accounes for an existing reality on urban planning visions or speculation in the way of conceiving the city.
