Abstract

This research analyzes the activities of the Company fot the Colonization of Colnett, a firm owned by the International Company of México, established for the specific purpose of colonizing the área of Cape Colnett in Baja California. Particular emphasis is placed on the results of its efforts as well as the reasons for the failure of the projecr. It also analyzes the case of a particular group of these settlets who were luckier than most -Harry Johnson, of Norwegian descent, and his family- as well as their contriburions to the región s development.
