Abstract
LEYVA-MIR, Santos Gerardo; GILCHRIST-SAAVEDRA, Lucy Isabella; HUERTA-ESPINO, Julio and VILLASENOR-MIR, Héctor Eduardo. Effect of the interaction of isolates of Septoria tritici Rob ex. Derm. inoculated on differente wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes, in the latency period. Rev. mex. fitopatol [online]. 2008, vol.26, n.1, pp.15-20. ISSN 2007-8080.
Nine genotypes of wheat with different degrees of susceptibility to Septoria tritici, were inoculated with three isolates of the fungus and their mixtures under field conditions in Toluca, Mexico, during the crop cycles 1998 and 1999. Susceptible cultivars had the shortest latent period and 50% more picnidia per foliar area when they were inoculated with individual isolates. When inoculations were performed with mixtures of the isolates, the latent period increased up to three days and the number of picnidia diminished 20%. The latent period in resistant genotypes was longer both with individual isolates and their mixtures.
