Abstract

BUTLER, Judith. Bodies in Pieces: Response to Monique David-Ménard.Translated bySergio Eduardo Cruz. Acta poét [online]. 2017, vol.38, n.2, pp.53-60. ISSN 2448-735X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.ap.2017.2.800.

In this text, Judith Butler responds to the comments about her own work that Monique David-Ménard proposes in her article La institución de los cuerpos vivientes según Judith Butler, which is included in this number of Acta Poética. Stemming from Menard’s questions, Butler maps the role of the idea of “body as institution” within her philosophy.

Keywords : body; sexuality; institutions; discourse of the body; gender.
